Waxing FAQs
How long do I have to let my hair grow before I get waxed?
For best results, you should stop shaving at least 2 weeks before your waxing appointment. During that 2 weeks, be sure to exfoliate the area daily with a washcloth, loofah, or body scrub. Proper exfoliation will help prevent ingrown hairs. Daily exfoliation should be continued 24hrs after your waxing service to further prevent ingrown hairs.
Does it hurt?
Waxing can be uncomfortable, especially if it's your first wax or if you haven't waxed in awhile. Ibuprofen can be taken 45 minutes before your appointment to minimize discomfort and swelling. It's completely normal to experience some redness and swelling after your wax. It should subside by the following day.
How should I care for my skin post-wax?
Skin should be kept clean after a wax. Try hard not to touch the area, especially with dirty hands. Do not tan or have unprotected sun exposure 48 hours before or after your wax. Exfoliate the area before your wax, and starting 24 hours after your wax to help prevent ingrown hairs. It's a good idea to use Finipil antiseptic cream daily to keep bacteria at bay, keeping your waxed skin clean and moisturized.
How often can I get waxed?
Facial waxing can be done every 2-3 weeks while body waxing should be done every 3-5 weeks.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Loose fitting clothing with cotton underwear is best! Thongs are not advised as they can rub and irritate your freshly waxed sensitive areas.
